Roy Abramowitz, CPA, CFP
Born and raised in South Africa, this Ivy Leaguer graduated with high honors from Princeton University in classics. He embarked on an illustrious accounting career after earning his masters degree in accounting from UCLA. Roy spent eight years at a national public accounting firm in Portland prior to joining Perkins in 1987.
We all need a healthy distraction to the long hours that tax work requires. Roy makes his the arts and he is an avid supporter of classical and chamber music. When he first came to Perkins, Roy was a masters level swimmer who could have competed in the Olympics for South Africa in the early 70's. A sudden heart ailment sent him to OHSU's heart transplant team in 1999. Now, of course, Roy is also a staunch supporter of the Donate Life Northwest.
Roy has broad experience in all areas of tax planning for individuals and closely-held businesses across many industries. He has particular expertise in income and estate tax; charitable planning for individuals; and succession planning for family businesses. He also leads the firm's Wealth Management Practice Group and is the firm's representative for the Family Firm Institute.
