These days, to call Perkins & Co an accounting firm is like calling a Porsche a car. Yes, we do tax preparation and keep an eye on your financial statements, but that's only a small part of the bigger picture. The bottom line is we work with our clients. We help them get where they want to go in business, and in life. It's our clients who make us successful, and we didn't get to be Portland's largest local accounting firm just by crunching numbers.

Our Timeline:

1986

Sander Perkins & Company is founded in Portland, the result of a merger between two small firms: Perkins, Jeddeloh & Acheson and Sander, Hull, Reynolds. The mission of the firm was to be a local firm offering full service capabilities comparable to the national firms.

1988

Perkins & Company launches the "Less boring than the average accounting firm" tag line and advertising campaigns created by Wieden + Kennedy. The campaigns include ads, T-shirts, jackets, posters, post-tax season party invitations. Almost ten years later, the firm still get requests for "Al Capone" T-shirts and is still using the Al Capone print ads. We discover that accounting firms in other cities have copied the entire campaign as their own.
